Motorcycle Racing

They are many sports that involve motorcycle racing, for example, classic racing, motocross, speedway racing, rolled racing and others. Let’s review some of the most popular types of them.

Rolled racing’s objective is that the rider needs to cross the line into first place. This kind of races includes some difficult sections like tough climbs and other obstacles. We can find races developed in one day or multi-stage races. The types of road races that are more popular are individual time trial, team time trial, open road races and stage races.

If we talk about circuit racing, the participants on this kind of motorcycle racing use highly modified bikes that are very old; probably from the 70s that they fix specially in order to participate in this exciting competition.

Motocross is held on dirt courses. This kind of motorcycle racing is a race over a close course with difficult terrain with high hills and very sharp curves. This type of motorcycle racing is very popular and there are many riders that are well known thanks to these races; like Carey Hart.

Another very popular motorcycle racing is Supermoto. This is a combination of rolled racing and motocross. Normally, the tracks are mixed between road and dirt and they are typically handcrafted.

Then we have the motorcycle speedway racing which is normally held in oval circuits where the riders take the dangerous curve sliding their machines and taking their bodies almost touching the tracks.

We find also the motorcycle endurance racing, where two contestants begin at the starting line and when they see the signal, they accelerate for a 1/4 mile in two lanes, and of course they winner is the first one to cross the finish line.

As you can see they are many forms of motorcycle racing, some of them are more exciting than the others, of course there is something for everybody but one thing is true, motorcycle racing is something that we have to watch personally in order to really appreciate the experience.
